You can run SpaOne WebConnect on a Desktop PC, a Mac, a laptop, an iPad or a mini laptop.
SpaOne WebConnect has been designed to run on any modern computer or mobile device that has Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, or Google chrome as its internet browser.
 
SpaOne can provide all your hardware requirements, including computers and Point of Sale (POS) peripherals such as barcode scanners, receipt printers and cash drawers.
 
SpaOne is designed to make use of a bar code scanner, receipt printer, and cash drawer. These items are not essential but do add to the efficiency and professional look of your spa.
 
To efficiently operate SpaOne WebConnect you will require:
 
  • A reliable internet connection, the quicker the better, and a cable type connection will be better to use than wireless
  • The latest version of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, or Chrome installed
  • Javascript turned on (this is usually the default on all computers)
  • If using barcode scanner - An additional USB port
  • If using receipt printer and cash drawer - A Serial port. (note that serial to USB adaptors can be purchased if your computer does not have a serial port. This adaptor allows the serial printer to be plugged into a free USB port. Please note - this will require some configuration within SpaOne)
    It is suggested that you have a mobile broadband account as a backup in case your cable internet is disrupted.
     
    Please note: if you are providing your own hardware, installation instructions are provided, but no hardware technical support will be available from SpaOne, and compatibility issues are not the responsibility of SpaOne.
     
     
    Point of Sale Equipment 
     

    Thermal Receipt Printers: Though not essential, thermal receipt printers are a handy POS tool to ensure each client receives a tax receipt promptly at the end of each sale transaction. Designed for speed and minimal noise, the thermal receipt printers are the most efficient printer for your busy reception environment. Compact in design, thermal receipt printers hold minimal space and as they print thermally, there is no need to replace ink cartridges, making them a cost effective long term solution for your business. Please note -  not all receipt printers are compatible with SpaOne. SpaOne has been exclusively designed and tested with the following receipt printers:                      

    1.     Custom Neo's Serial Thermal Receipt Printer

    2.     Epsom TM-T88IV or TM-T88V Serial Thermal Receipt Printer

    A separate piece of software is installed on your computer that bridges the communication between SpaOne WebConnect and your receipt printer. This software is available free of charge from SpaOne.

     Barcode Scanners: SpaOne has been designed to incorporate the versatility and usefulness of a barcode scanner in multiple areas of the software application. Though again not essential, a barcode scanner will increase the efficiency and time management of many areas of your daily operations. A barcode scanner can become a very useful tool for stock control, POS transactions, making bookings using Client membership cards and generating loyalty accruement to name but a few areas of use. Most barcode scanners are universal in operation and you will find that most brands and styles will be compatible with SpaOne, but it would be wise to check compatibility via the demonstration version of SpaOne WebConnect to be sure.

     

     Cash Drawers: SpaOne supplies only heavy duty reliable and safe cash drawers. Our cash drawers are designed to work in conjunction with the thermal receipt printer to allow for automation of opening at cash sales. If you do not wish to use a receipt printer but still want automatic drawer opening then a 'serial trigger' can be used in place of a receipt printer. The cash drawers supplied by SpaOne also has media slots in the front for added security, allowing you the ability to deposit Eftpos and Credit slips without the need to open the cash drawer if no cash is being handled.
